EVolution arrives in Bollington with new installations

Four new charging points have been installed in Pool Bank car park

Residents of the Cheshire town of Bollington without off-street parking can now charge their vehicles at a car park in the town.

Working with Bollington Town Council and environmental group Transition Bollington, Connected Kerb has installed four charging points, which were launched at an event attended by, pictured below left to right, Mayor Jo Maitland; Cllr Jon Weston; Ruth Tams, Transition Bollington; and Connected Kerb's Brand Ambassador Martin Offiah.

Estelle Worthington from Transport Bollington said: "Almost a year and a half ago now, Transition Bollington published the Bollington Transport Survey report. It looked how people move around our town, identified the barriers that exist to using certain modes of transport – including walking, cycling and public transport – and made recommendations for change.

"The survey revealed that availability of charging points was one of the primary barriers to making the transition away from a petrol or diesel powered cars towards electric vehicles. Well, it is very pleasing to be able to say that with today’s electric vehicle charging points launch an important step has been taken to remove this barrier.

"I’d like to start by thanking Bollington Town Council for having the confidence in the project and moving it forward. We’d particularly like to mention Councillor Jon Weston and Town Clerk David Naylor (now retired), who believed in the project and didn't lose faith in it. They worked tirelessly on the project liaising with Electricity North West, Cheshire East Council, Connected Kerb and the Energy Saving Trust.

"In addition, we’d like to give a special thanks to Connected Kerb who have helped us move the project forward in a professional and friendly way."
